CMR Racing 2015 Overview
Firstly, thank you once again for your much valued support this season. Having your sponsorship onboard was a great help, as you will no doubt have seen me say throughout the year! The hoses were perfect, and stood up to race use outstandingly well! Its been a very challenging year, the season started slightly later than planned due to family events, but we hit the ground running at Cadwell Park in April with Hottrax Motorsport, 3 podiums before a technical dnf in the final race of the weekend. After that was the unfortunate demise of Hottrax Motorsport, and with that a big chunk of our 2015 budget with pre paid entries that were never returned. We did what we could and made a quick hop over to the fantastic No Limits Racing series, at our first event with them at Donington we immediately saw success with Pole Position, 4 wins, 4 fastest laps! The Next round at Brands Hatch was more challenging, with machine problems we scraped our way to 4 x 2nd places and a championship lead! The following round at Silverstone, we had 4 fantastic battles for the podium, coming away with 4x2nd places, 2 fastest laps and an extended championship lead. Next up was our home circuit, Cadwell Park, the season took a turn for the worse when, after setting pole in class and p3 in first race, the engine went bang in Sunday morning warm up. This effectively destroyed our chances of a championship tilt. After losing 75 points from 3 DNS we also missed the following Anglesey round, leaving us heading into the last round at Donington with a 86 point defecit to the championship leader. Leaving nothing to chance, we attended the Derby Phoenix round at Cadwell shortly before, both for tracktime and to check the new engine was ok, all was well, and despite being against newer & bigger bikes we came away with 3 race wins, 4 fastest laps, 1 2nd place! Onto Donington with NLR, we were fighting tooth and nail for points with the championship leader, and his tail gunner. Unfortunately we came away with 4x3rd places and 2nd in the championship. In our eyes, although not the championship we hoped for, a decent result given we missed 7 races and ran standard engines all year! Our final Furore was with Auto 66 in preparation of 2016 action (more on that later) where we not only had our trusty zx7r but a 2012 fireblade loaned by friend of the team Gaz Evans. A great weekend was had, despite a crash when rain hit mid race in race 1 we were on the pace all weekend, 2 podiums in formula Libre on the zx7r and 4 solid top tens against some very big names in Count Of Cadwell on the Fireblade, showing our potential despite no previous testing on the bike! Overall its been an emotional and successful season, many podiums, wins, fastest laps, and lots & lots of promotion for yourselves, my Loyal sponsors! Looking to 2016, it is shaping up to be a hugely busy season. I will be making my debut at Oliver’s Mount, my first ever Road Race, and competing in Both the Auto 66 Formula Libre Championship and Derby Phoenix Classic Superbike series. For Olivers Mount we have our trusty ZX7R plus an OHM Racing ZXR400, and at certain events through the year we have the use of a 2007 Fireblade. Once again, the promotion of my sponsors will be at the forefront of the year, afterall, I simply couldn’t do it without you! Hopefully I can continue to count on your support for 2016! Thanks Again Craig
